Soon after selling White Lies, her first feature length screenplay, to a production company in Chicago, Lisa Colangelo graduated from Columbia College and landed a writing stint with radio legend Steve Dahl’s film company.
Lisa quickly moved up the ranks and wrote, produced, and directed her second feature film, Peace of Work, and from there was immediately thrown into the organized chaos of indie film production. While Peace of Work was in post-production, she was hired to cover the shocking and sultry underworld of swing clubs and wrote a television pilot based on the open lifestyles.
Since then, Lisa’s worked successfully in Chicago’s film and television industry and has acted as production supervisor for the likes of Sundance Film Festival contender, Design, Bill Murray's Comedy Central series, The Sweet Spot, Curb Your Enthusiasm star Jeff Garlin's I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With, and Season 6 of Emmy Award-winning, The Amazing Race. Most recently, Craving Adventure, a food-adventure television show she produced with her partners, aired as a prime time special on The Travel Channel.
Combining her great love of film with her own adventurous palate at fatcake productions, Lisa produces food/ adventure/travel programs and continues to write scripts, short stories, and young adult fiction. As a finalist in the 75th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition, her novel in progress Yellow garnered an honorable mention in the children’s fiction category. Now complete, Yellow is making its rounds in the publishing arena.
